So about 5 months ago, I was dealing with some awful shoulder pain. Well it was longer ago than that, that it started. Last fall I almost fell in the shower, and I was able to stop myself by grabbing onto the shower curtain. Look I never said I was graceful. Anyway, it took me a couple of months of going to the Primary Care Physician, then Orthopedic physician, then physical therapy, finally failed PT. So 5 months ago I got a cortisone shot in my shoulder. Everything was fine until the ride home from the 'So You Think You Can Dance' finale party. It only took me a moment to realize I had not done anything to my shoulder, for it to start hurting again. So back to making the rounds again I guess... so sad

The Happy Couple

"When was the last time you were at a wedding that had a death defying hike, rogue waves, a luau, ultimate fighting, a presidential candidate and a budding bromance?" asks Papi Chulo. For most of us, the answer is never, but luckily, Papi Chulo and Secret Agent Scotch took the time to Vox all the amazing moments during their unforgettable Hawaiian wedding on 08.08.08 so we could all take part in the festivities.

The story began last February, when Papi Chulo popped the question and Secret Agent Scotch said yes! Since then, they've kept us in the loop about all the details, from the bride's veil to the wedding song to the final To-Do List. And throughout it all, they inspired us with their love for each other. (I'm pretty sure it doesn't get any better than knowing your future husband thinks you are The Perfect Girl.)

It's an amazing love story and we are thrilled they shared it with us. Watch the video of the ceremony and please join us in wishing Papi Chulo and Secret Agent Scotch the fairytale ending they deserve.

Dinner

Thanks to my friend Beth, this is what I will make for dinner tonight.
Chicken Awesome Buco
Ingredients:
Boneless skinless chicken thighs
Flour (enough to coat all the meat…I use about 1.5 cups to cover 15 pieces)
Kosher salt and pepper
Vegetable oil (3 tablespoons, add as you go if needed)
2-4 carrots peeled and diced
2-4 stalks of celery chopped
1 medium onion chopped
2-4 tablespoons of tomato paste (depends how much tomato flavor you want)
1-2 cups of white wine
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
Chicken Broth (enough to cover all the chicken)

Now the fun begins:

Preheat oven to 350 F

In a large zip lock bag combine the flour, salt and pepper
Place the chicken in the bag and shake it!
Heat oil on med-high temp in Dutch oven or any large oven-safe pot
Brown chicken on both sides and set aside until all meat has been seared. Lower the heat to medium
In the same pot (don’t discard the oil), add carrots, celery and onion; sautéed until onion is translucent
Add the tomato paste and stir to distribute in the vegetables for 1 minute
Slowly add the white wine and use a spoon to start deglazing the bottom of the pot, let the wine cook for about 2 minutes
Add the seared chicken back into the pot and add chicken broth to cover all the chicken
Add the sprigs of rosemary; cover the pot and place in oven for 1-1.5 hours
Serve over white rice, risotto, or even mashed potatoes!
